PaulDeLaunay – This is from a one inch size daguerreotype photo of Paul de Launay, about age 9, which would date it around 1887. Louis-Jacques-Mande Daguerre, the French physicist, invented the first practical photographic process, which became known as the daguerreotype process. Daguerreotype was similar to tin types, but was done on silver-plate instead of tin in the American process.
